Hi, I’m Helen, and I run Lakshmi
Lakshmi is my Canterbury-based boutique celebrating dreadlocks, education, and a carefully curated collection of bohemian treasures from around the world.
From handmade jewellery to bags, clothing, and home décor, every item in the shop reflects my love of craft, color, and culture.
The Journey
My inspiration comes from travels and the vibrant crafts I encounter along the way. The colourful markets of India, the ancient traditions of Thailand, the artistry of Bali, Turkish kilims, and the rich hues of India all influence the pieces I create and select. Each item tells a story and brings a little of the world’s beauty into your home.

Dreadlocks
Creating natural dreadlocks is my true passion. I use gentle techniques like backcombing, palm rolling, and crochet needles—without wax or harsh chemicals—to ensure your hair stays healthy and beautiful. I’m always happy to answer questions and guide you through the process.
